Centre Swimming’s Assistant Coach gave birth to a healthy baby boy yesterday. Congrats to Sarah and Travis!

As per last week’s time lapse, set up in a similar, but slightly different location set to take a photo every 15 seconds over the course of the meet.

Centre basketball took on visiting Trinity University, an inter-conference rival for most of Centre’s sports. The game was a rough and tumble one with more fouls than I can remember and quite a bit of rough play, but the Colonels came out on top 57-50 in the end. Way to go guys!

On a different note, I accidentally uploaded my more stylish watermark to this set. It’s a tad smaller than the usual, but I was wondering what your thoughts on it are? Like it? Don’t like it? Don’t want to see a watermark (wont happen)? Let me know please!

Most often voted a Centre Swimmer’s least favorite meet, the Colonel Classic is one of those meets that you just want to be done with before it starts. Held at Centre by the Centre Swim/Dive program, this 1.5 day, 3 session, meet is designed to mimic the three days of finals that make up the SCAC conference swim meet. Basically, we swim ungodly amounts of yards between friday night and saturday afternoon.

This weekend, I took less photos than usual because I really wanted to focus on my swims, however I tried something new that I have never done before. A time lapse camera that I placed above the pool deck door that was set to take a photo every 15 seconds over the course of the saturday afternoon sessions of the mile and warmup. This was something I have never experimented with time lapse before, but I look forward to doing it again soon. Let me know what you think! Below are some of my favorite photos from the meet. Enjoy!

A few days back I got a call from my parents informing me that one of our two golden retrievers was diagnosed with late stage lung cancer. Haley was uncomfortable and it was becoming pointless to keep her around for our own sake. With many tears shed, our family decided to put Haley down this morning.

Ours is a family that treats our pets like true members of the family. We don’t always like them, but we do love them. Haley was one of those dogs that you could love, and like, unconditionally. Her personality was friendly, fun and she never demanded a moment of your attention, but was always grateful for any loving you could send her direction. She was always a cool calm and collected dog. She was brave, loved to swim, hated ambulance sirens, loved to play games with her sisters and had a fetish for anything soft and fuzzy (living or dead) to be in her mouth.

Our family will miss her terribly. Losing a special pet is sometimes just as bad as losing a human family member. She provided the same love and support that any living being ever could. She always found a way to put a smile on everyone’s faces. Enjoy some of my favorite photos of Haley.

She was never in a hurry. Relaxed is a good way to describe her.

She loved sitting in the leaves or grass and just watching the world around her.

She had the most beautiful face. So deep and thoughtful.

She was being playful with the camera this day.

And she loved playing games with her sister, Salem (left).

Women’s Game

Danville has been locked in a deep freeze for the last 5 days…and it has been snowing constantly for almost all of them. I took the camera out to take photos of some friends reverting back to their childhood with a flying saucer. We had some good times and I came back with some fun photos. Enjoy this light hearted post.
